Patrizi impresses with quick pace in World Series by Renault testing

Australian Michael Patrizi has impressed in testing with Victory Engineering in a World Series by Renault car at Paul Ricard in France today. Patrizi competed in three of the four open test sessions held over November 8 and 9 at Paul Ricard, and was right on the pace on Thursday, setting the 12th fastest time out of almost 30 cars.

Barton Mawer has been confirmed as part of the Australian driver line up for the up coming 2006/2007 A1 GP season. The news comes after Barton produced an impressive debut performance at the official A1 GP 2 day test at Silverstone on 30-31 August. Barton put the Australian car 8th fastest out of the 20 nations present on the second day and the fastest sector 3 (the complex) of the 20 nations.

Team Australia Driver, James Davison, performed exceptionally well on the opening day of qualifying to be 10th fastest in the highly competitive 23-car field. Davison who is one of the youngest and inexperienced drivers in this years championship, showed his ability ahead of many more experienced competitors.
Patrizi on the podium at Croft

Michael Patrizi has scored his first podium for the season at Round 11 of the Formula BMW UK Championship at the Croft circuit in Yorkeshire today. The young Australian driver was third in the 15-lap race, the first of two held over the weekend in warm conditions, giving Patrizi his first podium for the season in the tough championship.

James Davison did double duties and faced a new challenge when Rounds 5 and 6 of the Champ Car Atantic Series were held at the Burke Lakefront Airport temporary road course in Cleveland, Ohio. The weekends' race meeting was the only time this season that the Champ Car Atlantic drivers and crews encountered two rounds of the championship in one weekend.

At Round 4 of the Champ Car Atlantic Series held at Portland International Raceway, one second covered the top 21 qualifiers with James securing 18th grid position, five tenths of a second off the top 10. Portland, which is renowned for its first corner accidents, saw the Atlantic field of 27 cars severely disrupted.

Barton Mawer had his strongest run so far in the Champ Car Atlantic championship in round 4 on June 16th-18th at Portland Oregon. He was running in the top 10 throughout the race to finish 11th by the chequered flag.
