The Australian Motor Sport Foundation (AMSF) has today announced the appointment of Martin Stillman as its new General Manager.

Stillman joins the AMSF following a distinguished and successful career, currently holding the position of AFL Victoria Region Manager for the Calder Cannons.

Australian Motor Sport Foundation (AMSF) International Rising Star Tim Blanchard claimed his third victory in the 2008 British Formula Ford Championship at the Silverstone circuit in England on the weekend.

After only three and a half years, the CAMS Rising Star Program and the newly implemented AMSF International Rising Star Program have achieved a major milestone of 50 race victories.

Once again, Australia’s brightest young stars will be able to nominate themselves to be considered for the 2009 Program. Tim Blanchard made his international debut on the weekend in the British Formula Ford Championship at Oulton Park in England, taking his maiden international race win and the championship points lead. The race win, an historic and significant achievement, is the first for the AMSF International Rising Star Program which is being run as a pilot this year.

Last Thursday 13th March, The Australian Motor Sport Foundation (AMSF) hosted a dinner at the prestigious Park Hyatt Melbourne to celebrate the colourful career of Frank Gardner OAM. Frank, the guest of honour, was joined by over 300 guests as well as number of leading motor sport personalities including Mark Webber and Sir Jackie Stewart.

Biante Model Cars have come on board as a key supporter of the CAMS Rising Star Program for the 2008 season. Whilst the sponsorship deal has been executed between Borland Racing Developments and Biante Model Cars, both organisations agreed that the financial support should be directed into the CAMS Rising Star Program to support this year's impressive crop of up-and-coming stars.

Following the success of the inaugural AMSF Driver Development Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra and in line with the AMSF's new mission to become a centre of excellence for improving driver performance, the AMSF are rolling out a suite of short courses which will allow aspiring young Australian drivers to attain a performance edge over their rivals.

AMSF International Rising Star John Martin showed Australia and the rest of the world he is a rising talent with two top six finishes at the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport round held at Eastern Creek last weekend.

The Australian Motor Sport Foundation will host a celebration dinner in honour of the great Frank Gardner O.A.M. to kick start F1 Grand Prix week at Albert Park in March.
