CAMS Rising Star Luke Ellery has won the 2009 Victorian Formula Ford Fiesta Series with a round win at the season ending event at Phillip Island. Ellery finished the Victorian Series with 290 points; 114 points ahead of kiwi Mitch Evans. The field throughout the four round series was very strong, with many of the Australian Formula Ford Championship competitors entering the series in preparation for the national rounds. “I was really happy with the year’s results, and I feel I have clicked in the last few race meetings and found some more speed throughout the series,” Ellery said. “To win the Victorian Series is great and I will take a lot of that confidence into the final national round and finish the season on a positive.” The final round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship heads to the streets of the Gold Coast, Queensland, on 22 – 25 October.
