Ricciardo gets Formula 1 test

November 18, 2009

AMSF Past Funded driver Daniel Ricciardo will get the opportunity to test in a Formula 1 car at the start of December in Jerez.

The 2009 British Formula 3 Champion will spend three days testing a Red Bull RBS and is thrilled about the opportunity.

“I’m just really looking forward to it, and I’m going to make the most of the opportunity”, Ricciardo told Motorsport eNews.

“With such limited time for testing now, for Red Bull to give me all three days is a huge gift; and I don’t want to be taking it for granted. I have been training a lot especially my neck and lower back muscles.”

“I’m not going to put any pressure on myself; I know if I listen to the team and do as they say I will get on fine and hopefully I can do some respectable times.

As well as preparing physically for the test, Ricciardo has also been spending time in a simulator and getting accustomed to the conditions he will experience.

“This should allow me to be pretty well prepared for it by the time I’m in the car for the real deal”, Ricciardo told eNews.

Ricciardo is part of the Red Bull Development Squad and recently took out the 2009 British Formula 3 Championship. Ricciardo has plans to race in the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship in 2010.

The AMSF wish Daniel all the best in his December testing and will provide a full report on his progress.
