AMSF & CAMS Rising Stars enthusiastic for promising Eastern Creek return

August 05, 2011

Harrison Testing     Le Brocq Testing

After an impressive showing by CAMS Rising Stars Harrison and Le Brocq, and a positive series debut
for AMSF Rookie Rising Star Collins at the June state round of the 2011 NSW Formula Ford
Championship, the Minda Motorsport team is more ready than ever to get back on the Eastern Creek
tarmac, going one step better and taking on the best in the business at round three of the 2011
Australian Formula Ford Championship

Harrison returns to the site of his round win, Le Brocq will be looking for clean fast racing, Collins has
confidence in going faster again on his home circuit, while latest team recruit and championship front
runner, Tom Williamson is set to complete a four car assault this weekend.

Both the AMSF and CAMS Rising Stars utilised testing at Winton Motor Raceway since the last racing
challenge, a day out that proved to be highly beneficial to the team, now with the additional knowledge
and resources of the Williamson entry. With vital laps in their Penrite backed Mygale machines offering a
greater insight to where these wheels could take them over the coming rounds, there’s a glowing
confidence in the expanding team.

AMSF Rookie Rising Star Collins in his Go Markets Mygale is ready for his national series debut on the
track he calls home, and the place where he secured his first race and round wins last season in the
NSW state series, heading into the weekend cautious but confident, saying,“I’m feeling pretty good after
having the state round to prepare for the national level competition.

“I have the confidence that I can do well again at The Creek as I know the track well, and with the
support of the AMSF team and Tom’s (Williamson’s) experience now with us, we should all be looking
towards another weekend of great results.”

Jon will also be competing for family bragging rights against his mother Sue (Hughes) who will also be
racing on the weekend in the Radical Championship.

With a high team morale going back to the circuit of their best results yet this season, Harrison and Le
Brocq are also confident of further front of pack achievements, with Harrison saying,
“The state round proved that we are a strong team.

We’re confident after the latest results, just not over confident as it’s never easy, but I think we
can go on for our best results this weekend.“Having worked with Tom (Williamson) in the past,
he’ll be a great addition and he’s fast so that’sanother push for us all to learn and progress.”

Sitting seventh in the national championship, just two points behind team mate Harrison, Le Brocq
explained,

“I’m looking forward to this weekend as we know we have pace – the state round has shown that.
“We’re now on a more even playing field, we’ve tried more setup options during testing and that’s gone
well, plus having Tom (Williamson) on board is another good thing with the extra data and experience to
learn from.”

The challenging 3.9km circuit is sure to offer some outstanding on track action as the now four car team
from the Minda Motorsport garage head east, but you can be rest assured that drivers, team and
machines are ready for the challenge as Team Manager Bruin Beasley explained,

“Our state round was very positive with Trent’s (Harrison’s) win, and with all the national contenders
there it showed that the boys have what it takes to get results and keep pace.
“We’re quietly confident and are continuing to work hard to go fast, keep the racing clean, and help these
young guns develop to championship winning levels – and they’re well on their way.

“All the cars are fast, we’re happy to have Tom (Williamson) in the team now, so we’ll be looking for top
ten results as Jon (Collins) starts the national learning curve and both Trent (Harrison) and Jack (Le
Brocq) aim for even better results.”

The CAMS Rising Stars and AMSF Rookie Rising Star will hit the track this weekend, 15 – 17 July at
Eastern Creek International Raceway.

The CAMS Rising Stars and AMSF Rookie Rising Star are proudly supported by CAMS, the Australian
