CAMS F1

Overview

CRS at NSW ride day

The CAMS Rising Star Program is run under licence by the Australian Motor Sport Foundation.

The CAMS Rising Star Program was established in 2004 to ensure talented young Australian drivers have every opportunity to learn all aspects of motor racing and to give them the very best preparation for a successful National or International motorsport career and to compete at the pinnacle of their chosen motor sport discipline

The CAMS Rising Star Program supports the major junior pathway categories for open wheel motor racing and therefore supports the other objectives of the broader program, i.e. to increase participation. Without well defined pathways, grassroots participation will be negatively affected.

Up to 4 drivers will be selected for the 2012 Program, and each driver will receive significant financial support to help fund their competition.

CAMS Rising Star Objectives

The key objectives of the CAMS Rising Star program are as follows:
•    To provide a structure to facilitate the rapid development of racing drivers from State level Formula Ford, sprint/super karting and other lower levels of competition to National open wheel racing (Formula Ford)
•    To work with the Australian Motor Sport Foundation Ltd (AMSF) to provide a structure to facilitate the rapid development of racing drivers from national open wheel racing to the pinnacle of national and international competition (i.e. Formula 1™ and V8 Supercars)
•    To increase participation in motor sport through clearly defined and supported progressional pathways.
