Daniel Ricciardo first to test Toro Rosso’s 2012 machine.
February 01, 2012
Toro Rosso will unveil their 2012 machine at the first of this season's pre-season tests. They will use the day before the test to unveil the STR7 in the pit lane of the Jerez circuit before going on to test for the duration of the four days.
Daniel Ricciardo is set to take the wheel of the Toro Rosso machine on the first day of the Jerez test. This will be the first time the STR7 has turned a wheel in anger and the young Australian will have a great chance to put it through its paces. His team-mate, Frenchman Jean Eric Vergne, will take the wheel later in the test.
Many of the top teams are bringing their 2012 machines to Jerez in the hope of making the most of limited testing opportunities. This will give an indication of who is likely to have the car to beat in the 2012 Formula 1™ Championship season.
After Jerez there will be two more pre-season tests, both in Barcelona, before the season gets under way with the Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix from the 15th – 18th of March. |
