V8 Touring Car Series

The Kumho Tyres Australian V8 Touring Car Series made its racing debut in 2008 and was born out of the fact there were so many Falcon and Commodore V8 Supercars that had become ineligible to compete in the V8 Supercar Development Series (now known as the Dunlop Series).

With so many 'de-registered' cars looking for a place to race, the V8 Touring Car Series was created and has continued to go from strength to strength.

Not only does the series provide a home for 'retired' and/or historically significant V8 Supercars, it enables teams/drivers to continue to race these iconic and exciting race cars, and just as importantly, it opens up another entry point for young drivers.

The category is subject to strict technical requirements, and has been approved as an official CAMS-sanctioned National Series. CAMS-appointed stewards; a technical director and full national level medical resources are present at each event.

The Kumho Series features on SBS’ ‘Speedweek’ program as well as the dedicated programming produced for FOX Sports’ ‘SPEED’ channel.
