The Devitt Prize is awarded annually to the medical student who has displayed excellence in the Year 4 Surgical Home Unit (SHU) rotation and surgical content of end-of-year examinations (if the data is available).
Professor Peter Devitt is the former head of the Professorial Surgical Unit at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and Associate Professor of the Discipline of Surgery at Adelaide Medical School. He has a palpable passion for medical education and surgical teaching, and has been instrumental to medical students' surgical education in South Australia.
The winner will receive a certificate and a $250 cash prize.
